Phantom Car: A Virtual Navigator
Traveling at night may mean less traffic, but a driver may still be deterred by unfamiliar roads and bad weather. it helps if a companion can aid the driver by looking into a road map or advise the driver of a better maneuver based on the line of vision of the "navigator".
The use of in-car satellite navigation offers a better deal, especially during heavy traffic, but it can be uninteresting as one has to listen to spoken instructions or study an on-screen map. but soon, navigating the streets can be easier with Microsoft’s "phantom car".
Just like any in-car global positioning system(gps), Microsoft’s invention checks a car’s location and calculates an appropriate route in the usual way. butthis new system allows a driver to trail behind a cartoon car projected onto the windshield. it’s like playing a virtual reality video game as the driver follows a"ghost" car in a convoy.
to make it even more interesting, Microsoft has made the on-screen convey traffic and weather information by changing color or size while being sufficiently distinguishable from real cars.
