Minding your forks and your spoon
It’s not everyday that you get invited to a fancy dinner so it’s easy to forget simple table manners. If your household doesn’t even set the table for meals, you’re in bigger trouble.
So here’s a crash course on table etiquette:
-
Remember. Spoons and even knives are on the right of your plate while forks and napkins are on the left. Your glass/es are on your right and your bread is on your left.
-
As soon as you take your seat, take your napkin and unfold it on your lap.
-
If there is more than one set of utensils, use them from the outside in.
-
After using a utensil, don’t ever let it touch the table again. This means that leaning a used spoon, fork or knife against your plate is not proper. Keep them on your plate. After your use a knife to cut a piece of food, lay it diagonally across the edge of your plate with its sharp edge facing inward. (soyouwanna.com)
